The Pan Mass Challenge 2013 for the Dana Farber Cancer Research Institute

by admin on August 7th, 2013

On Saturday, August 3rd, I participated in the Pan Mass Challenge, a fund raising event for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. 5,500 riders cycled along multiple courses converging on Cape Cod. Along the route, thousands of people stood along the course thanking the riders for their effort as they clapped and handed us water bottles as we raced by, and we thanked them in return for coming out in support. It was a moving and magical moment as so many people came together in the hope of licking cancer. In all, over $38 million will be raised by the PMC this year for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, over 20% of its operating budget. With the help and support of my family and friends, we have contributed to the effort to fight cancer. For every mile we ride, we are a mile closer to kicking cancer. I hope to ride next year, but look forward to the day when we no longer have to ride in the PMC as it will be the day when we have found the cure for cancer. If this post reached you and you would like to contribute to the PMC, please go to PMC.org, find my profile page by entering my name and making a donation. 100% of every dollar you give will go to cancer research.
